ED Corner: September 2025
Pathways of Healing Practices
We are navigating some deeply difficult times together as a human species. Much of what we are living through, at this moment in 2025, can stimulate a sense of despair.
Yet, when we pause to notice, there’s beauty in the sky (and beyond) that is constant, there’s beauty in the trees and the wild botanic beings that are constants, there’s beauty in the wild creatures of land and water that are constants, and there’s beauty within the tear-filled eyes of compassionate humans.
This compassionate beauty within tear-filled human eyes is an indication of our true nature; our nature to be responsive and accountable within this life. These tear-filled eyes are an indication of our authentic nature being misaligned with our inauthentic ways; our authentic nature being to steward life on Earth.
At Groundwork Denver, we are intent to be responsive and accountable stewards to Pathways of Healing Practices, inside of our home environments and within our surrounding community environments; together, within our daily personal/professional walks.
During my first one-on-one meeting with our new Board Chair, Silvia Fuentes, she mentioned one of her authentic life mantras that she likes to share with folks who are struggling and suffering, “the antidote to despair is action.”
I hope that you’ll continue to share learnings and be open to learning, as we continue to generate actions that perpetuate Pathways of Healing Practices together. And, when those tear-filled eyes come to you, maybe even with a sense of despair, I invite you to focus your attention on some simple beauty within nature (could be the sky or a tree outside, and even a pet, a plant, or a human inside!), while noticing that the beauty of your compassionate attention is a simple, yet profound action.
With Love & Gratitude to be Alive with You Now,
derek
