Friends of the Trees
We offer trees to metro Denver residents periodically throughout the year. Thanks to grant funding and donations, we are able to source the trees and plant them at a low cost or no cost, and plant the trees utilzing youth and volunteer support.
We're looking for residents who want trees, as well as volunteers to help us plant those trees.
Donations and additional funding would be useful as well, as we aim to provide additional support with irrigation, long-term tree care, and local youth involvement.
Below are a number of ways you can get involved. We hope you'll participate!
Why Trees?
Trees keep things cool. They clean the air, filter toxins from polluted storm water runoff, prevent flooding, and provide a beautiful habitat where we can literally – and figuratively – breathe a little easier. That's especially important in areas like Commerce City, where heavy industry has been allowed to pollutes the air and water, where a lack of investment in tree planting contributes to significantly hotter temperatures and flooding, and of course all this also means there's a lack of beautiful greenery for people to enjoy.
Nature knows no boundaries, so when we focus our efforts in areas that are most impacted, we're contributing to a healthier, equitable, and sustainable future for us all. Thankfully, we have leafy friends and a powerful community of people like you on our side.
Have questions or ideas? You're "barking" up the right tree.
