More recently\, he was a member of the Fall 2024 cohort of Groundwork Denver’s Green Infrastructure Training (GRIT) program\, where he gained hands-on experience\, skills\, and certifications relating to green infrastructure and low impact development. Then\, create your own mini-greenhouses (we use repurposed gallon jugs). You can take some home for yourself and leave some behind for Groundwork Denver gardens. \nAll materials\, including seeds\, will be provided. \nPlease note that you’ll need a sunny place outside to keep your greenhouses. you can take up to 2 home\, and leave at least 1 for Groundwork Denver programming. Seedlings will be ready to plant in the early spring. \nThis event is recommended for ages 10+\, and involved the use of box cutters and a drill. \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER. \n————— \nAbout this event: \nNative plants play a crucial role in restoring the health of our ecosystem. But with urban development and ecosystem loss\, many of these friends struggle to find places to make safe homes. \nThat’s where you come in!  \nJoin Groundwork Denver and Special Guest Instructor Michael Alcazar for a fun and impactful workshop. We’ll learn more about these critters and the important roles they play\, and then get to building. You can pick one of four options: \n\nBird house\nBird feeder\nBat box\nInsectary\n\nYou can choose to keep your creation and install it where you live\, or you can leave it with Groundwork Denver to redistribute to community members living in areas with especially high levels of habitat loss. \nWe’ll provide all the tools and supplies — all you need to bring is yourself\, closed-toe shoes\, and eco-enthusiasm! \nAges 10+. Youth 10-13 must be accompanied by an adult.
