DESCRIPTION:In celebration of this year’s Earth Day\, Groundwork Denver\, in partnership with Adams County and our event sponsors\, Gran Centenario Tequila will be hosting a Clear Creek Cleanup. \nVolunteers who would like to participate can meet Groundwork Denver at the Carl Park Community Center on Saturday\, April 22nd at 9:30 a.m. Following the event’s beginning\, volunteers will grab their provided trash bags and hit the Creek. Starting at the community center\, volunteers will head north towards the creek and work their way along the creek’s path towards Federal Blvd. As a thank you for your clean-up efforts\, Gran Centenario Tequila will host a post-event party where complimentary food and drinks will be served for those over 21! \nThough the clean-up is being sponsored by Gran Centenario Tequila\, there will be no alcohol involved at the event. DESCRIPTION:This project is taking place on a very special day – Earth Day! In honor of Earth Day\, Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado will work with the City and County of Denver and the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge to construct 6\,600 feet of new trail along First Creek. DESCRIPTION:UNFORTUNATELY WE HAVE TO POSTPONE DUE TO WEATHER. STAY TUNED FOR NEW TIME AND DATE! Join us for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service! You and a partner will knock on doors in the Cole and Clayton neighborhoods of Northeast Denver. At each home\, you will offer to change out the front porch light bulb to an energy efficient bulb\, provide information about reducing energy use\, and sign people up for free recycling\, energy assessments\, energy improvements (like insulation or a new furnace) and trees. It’s simple and makes a huge difference for people and the planet. Over the last eight years\, 3\,000 volunteers have replaced over 20\,000 inefficient porch light bulbs with efficient CFLs or LEDs\, reducing greenhouse gases by over 7000 tons and saving $840\,000! \nemail wendy@groundworkcolorado.org to RSVP by January 12\, 2017
