Last week Groundwork USA brought together youth program leaders/coordinators/directors from trusts all around the country in Harper, Texas to work on development of both hard skills and soft skills that will help these leaders of youth carryout their work at the highest level possible.
Groundwork Denver was fortunate to be able to send six leaders in the Green Team program to receive training and the opportunity to network and build relationships with those in a similar position from other Groundwork trusts.
The opportunity to be in contact with a group of like-minded individuals working toward common goals was a powerful experience for all who were involved! Many of the skills developed over the week long workshop will help Groundwork trusts bolster their respective partnerships with federal, regional, and local partners.
Groundworkers had the opportunity to receive some great training in topics ranging from trail building, to raised bed gardening, to fundraising and budget making. All of which is knowledge that will empower each trust’s youth program to be the best it can be!
We in Denver feel very fortunate to have been involved in the workshop and look forward to seeing our fellow trusts blossom thanks to the knowledge we all gained from participating.
