Over the past 4 years Groundwork Denver has helped to connect many youth in Denver, Commerce City, and Sheridan to free bikes and helmets through various projects, programs, and events. Working to promote cycling as a sustainable and multifaceted mode of transportation. Whether it’s been Earth Day, Independence Day, or just a normal Saturday, we wouldn’t be able to link these youth to bikes if it weren’t for our awesome partners at Project ReCycle. Project ReCycle has helped us link over 100 youth to bikes in the Denver Metro area.
Based in Castle Rock, CO, Project ReCycle provides smiles to children across the world through the donation of bicycles. Groundwork Denver has had the pleasure of partnering with Project ReCycle to provide bikes to the communities we serve since 2012. When you watch a young person receive a bike the light in their eyes, the excitement on their face, the experience is unmatched. You feel just as excited as they are! We want to say thank you to Executive Director AJ Stapleton and the rest of the staff at Project ReCycle for spreading their love for philanthropy and bikes and helping us at Groundwork Denver create a more sustainable future.
Project ReCycle is always accepting donations, if you have an unused, functioning or broken bicycle they will gladly accept it! To learn more about Project ReCycle and the amazing work they are doing to provide bikes for young people across the state of Colorado, please visit their website!
